114: Lingering COVID
I have a friend who had COVID in March. He recovered from the fevers but part of COVID never really left. It turns out that it’s quite common to feel not quite right and have lingering issues months after your recover.
These two threads back up what I’m hearing from my friend. He has a super high heart rate for no reason, he wakes up with shortness of breath, has a rash, and has crazy hot heat coming from his head.
This is just another reason why this virus is so confounding.
At My House
We did some camping in our back yard. It’s not quite the real thing but you still get the overtired kids. :)

Cases
World
Facing a new wave, Iran has ordered citizens to wear masks for the first time since the pandemic began.
Cases in Iraq have increased eightfold over the past month, and the nation’s health care system is nearing its breaking point.
India reported record daily cases on Sunday — 24,850. Plans to reopen the Taj Mahal this week have been canceled.
USA
At least 15 states broke their single-day coronavirus infection records this week.
Florida has quickly become a cradle of infection. On the Fourth of July, the state reported a record 11,458 new cases — more than a fifth of the nation’s total.
West Virginia becomes latest state to mandate facial coverings in public.
The density of attacks is still on the East Coast:
San Franciso Area
In the city of San Francisco, the average number of cases is tapering off at 45 a day, which is similar to where we are in Marin.
That’s all everyone. Have a great Tuesday -
