Getting Back to Normal
I can’t wait to get back to normal but I’m not sure when that’ll be. I tend to think that once my family has been vaccinated AND the number of cases and deaths are low, then we can start getting doing normal things again, but I’m very curious how this whole thing plays out.
The good news: The US is on the verge of administering 1.5 million doses a day and about 11% of Americans have received one or two doses of a vaccine
Bad News: Only about 29% of recipients are 65 or older.
We have a good amount of vaccines here in CA but my parents in Minnesota can’t get their hands on one. I’m optimistic that they will but it’s a tough waiting game.
All that said, Fauci said that the country should be ready to vaccinate everyone by April.
“I would imagine by the time we get to April, that will be what I would call, for better wording, ‘open season,’” he said. “Namely, virtually everybody and anybody in any category could start to get vaccinated.”
- Fauci
It actually makes sense if you do the math. There are 260 million adults in the U.S. The US has a deal with Moderna and Pfizer for 200 million people. With the new Johnson & Johnson vaccine which the FDA will approve by the end of the month, we’ll have another 100 million people covered. So with Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson we have enough to vaccinate the entire adult population by the middle of the year — with some left over. Wahoo!
So, we’ll be there soon. We just need to hold on for another couple of months.
At My House
We’re getting out of the house and going for lots of bike rides. Last weekend, we rode to the beach and had a little picnic. We’re loving the sunshine

Great work by the anchor

As someone who has a lisp and worked on my speech as a kid, this one was my favorite:
Corona
New coronavirus cases dropped by 25% last week, the biggest decline of the pandemic so we’re headed in the right direction.
In Marin, the cases are coming way down too
and the doses are going out at about 1k-2k a day:
So, things are headed in the right direction. Have a great weekend everyone.
Only 64 more days to go
