Happy Thanksgiving
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
- Ferris Bueller
This was a year of loss. Considering everything that happened (losing a family member, progress at work, freedom, the ability to live my life), it is amazing how much I have to be thankful for. My friends, family and more. It’s really incredible how great things are in the world. I’m glad to take a day and really reflect on that.
"Everybody Has It"
I work with a 19 year old. He decided to forego a year of college and work full-time with our Onward team. He told us yesterday that every single person he knows that’s his age that went to college has gotten COVID. Every single one. He estimates it’s 30-50 people. These are highly intelligent kids.
He says that the younger generation doesn’t fear COVID but instead want to just get it, get the antibodies, and get past it so they can socialize and get on with their lives.
This blew my mind. While it’s irresponsible as it endangers everyone - especially those who are high-risk, it’s also understandable. When you’re young you optimize your life for hanging out with others.
Maradona
For the soccer fans out there, we lost a legend yesterday. Maradona was an icon. The Michael Jordan of his day. He put Argentina on his back and carreid them to a World Cup win in 1986 and also crushed the Italian league. I remember watching him over and over again as a kid. He was incredible (video of top 10 goals).
